“ROASTING THE BEST COFFEE BEANS CENTRAL AMERICA OFFERS”

Katzala is a Mayan expression naming the Quetzal, a magnificent bird that lives throughout the Central American mountains, volcanic ranges, forests and reserves. This beautiful specimen is also the national bird to Guatemala that is rich in history that runs deep in cultural heritage.

Katzala produces estate grown and artisanal roasted coffees. We start from strategically selecting farms that have been chosen for their varieties of coffee, geographic location, altitude, rainfall and climate, these are perfectly located plantations nestled in volcanic rich soils that yield prized gourmet qualities and characteristics in this spectacular roasted coffee we come to expect.

We produce and also acquire green coffee through ethical sourcing relation ships with smallholder farmers and cooperatives in rural areas of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras in Central America. In our commitment to quality, our coffee beans are inspected, hand-picked, and evaluated by certified coffee cuppers.

All Coffee we harvest and process is (SHB) Strictly Hard Beans, which means that they are harvested from plantations that are at or above 1300 meters above sea level. The varieties of coffee we harvest are; Red Borbon, Caturra, Pacas and Pacamara.
